I love you without knowing how, or when, or from where. I love you simply, without problems or pride: I love you in this way because I do not know any other way of loving but this, in which there is no I or you, so intimate that your hand upon my chest is my hand, so intimate that when I fall asleep your eyes close.

Absolutely love this. Reminds me why I love poetry.

Playing by the Rules..

You know when someone sees past the surface to the heart of a situation that all you can do is sit there in perpetual silence… I was complaining to my friend Tee, that a guy that I was seeing hadn’t called me in a while. He basically called me out for bullshitting my way into what I thought was a legitimate argument. It was so profound because, he was completely real with me. He told me that I was in the wrong. And no one has ever told me that.

In a society that prides itself on constructing rules for dating, for dressing, for talking, for eating, for sex; I got so caught up in whether I was playing the right game. It’s simple really. I had just made it complicated. I forgot that above all, that a relationship is a two way street. For a moment I was so caught up in the doubts and insecurities of what I ought to do and be, what I’m supposed to expect. It’s so simple yet so beautiful.
